History

The Bulletin of Geology, formerly known as Buletin Geologi, has a longstanding tradition of scholarly publication that began with the release of its inaugural volume in 1980. Initially titled Buletin Departemen Teknik Geologi – ITB, the journal was established under the leadership of a distinguished editorial team, including Dr. Ong Han Ling, Prof. Dr. Ir. Djoko Santoso, Ir. Suprijadi, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yahdi Zaim, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Eddy A. Subroto.

Over the years, the journal has evolved both in scope and format, reflecting the dynamic growth of geoscientific research in Indonesia and the surrounding region. By 2015, the journal had successfully published 42 volumes, becoming a respected platform for academic discourse in the geological sciences.

In April 2017, the Bulletin of Geology entered a new era with the launch of its online edition. This transition was accompanied by a restructured editorial board, with Dr. Asep Saepuloh appointed as Editor-in-Chief. The journal's Board of Members is chaired by Prof. Emmy Suparka, with an Advisory Council comprising leading experts: Prof. Yahdi Zaim, Prof. Eddy A. Subroto, Dr. Agus H. Harsolumamso, and Prof. Ir. Benyamin Sapiie, Ph.D.
